Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)
Location: Fairfield, Iowa
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights (Fri, Sat, Sun, Tues, Wed, Thurs, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Overview
- Provide total patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
- Direct and guide patient teaching and ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
Employment & Health Requirements (Must be completed and verified 5 business days prior to start)
- Two recent employment references.
- Online verification of licensure or certification including expiration date and disciplinary actions within 30 days of start.
- Copies of required certifications: BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS, TNCC.
- Immunizations:
- MMR (2 doses or positive titers)
- Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Polio
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Current TDaP (within 10 years)
- Flu vaccination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold; if positive, proof of chest x-ray required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 1 month of start date.
- Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year (can be provided if not available).
- Criminal background checks for all states of licensure and residence in past 7 years (within 30 days).
- National and/or State Sex Offender Registry checks (within 30 days).
- OIG exclusion list check (within 30 days).
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates for Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse.
- Completion of CareLearning education modules prior to start (includes Mandatory Reporter if not already certified).
Additional Information
- Full-time night shift with every other weekend and holiday coverage.
- Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
