Ultrasound Technologist (General Imaging)
Job Type
- Contractor
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 10-hour night shifts
- Hours per week: 20
Facility & Environment
- Level IV Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Teaching hospital with 228 beds
- Covid vaccine required
- Patient types include general, vascular, OB, neonatal heads and abdomen, liver duplex, with a large number of pelvic and vascular studies
- Average daily caseload: 6-14 patients per technologist
- Floating includes bedside portable ultrasound throughout the hospital
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience within the last year
- Certifications required: BLS, ARDMS, RVT, and ABD
- Experience as a Vascular Sonographer and OB Technician
Orientation & Training
- Neonatal orientation included
- 2-3 shifts orientation in the department
Support & Team
- Other sonographers on unit
- Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
- Radiologist not on site but reads 24/7
- Lead Sonographer available
- Rapid Response/Code Team support
- Manager/Supervisor available during weekdays
Technology & Equipment
- EMR system: EPIC
- Medication dispensing: Pyxis
- PACS: Change Healthcare
- Ultrasound equipment: Logic E9, Logic E10, Parksflow, GE scanners
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- Weekend rotation based on needs and schedule
- No on-call required
- Holiday work expected if it falls on a scheduled day
- Mostly set schedule
- Scrub color: Any professional color except denim or camouflage
- Free parking in designated employee areas
