Department Information

• Number of MRI scanners/rooms: 2
• Radiologist coverage: In-house during regular hours; not after hours
• Use of Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA): No
• Equipment: GE MRI machines
• EMR system: Epic
• PACS system: McKesson
• Duties include: Routine, stroke, trauma imaging; patient transport; clerical duties; patient preparation; safety screening; scanning; starting IVs; EMR navigation and documentation
• Average scans per day: 25-30
• Floating/covering other areas: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
• Certified MRI Technologist - ARRT (MR) verification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Prefer experience with GE MRI equipment
• Active Illinois license or proof that application process has been initiated
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels (drug-free campus policy)

Additional Information

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Orientation: Approximately 12 non-billable hours, typically during the first week; 10-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 10:30 AM
• Dress code: Any color professional scrubs (not provided); tattoos must be covered; no body piercings except earrings
• No weekend, holiday, or call requirements
• No floating to other departments
