Registered Nurse (Tele Intermediate) - Galesburg, Illinois

• Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 or 1:5
• Unit Beds: 26
• EMR System: EPIC
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call Requirement: None
• Floating: Travelers expected to float with the same 1:5 ratio on assigned unit
• Orientation: 1 shift hospital orientation, 2 shifts unit orientation (one day, one night)
• Scrubs: No specific scrub color required; may wear own scrubs

Patient Population and Care

• Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Atrial Fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope
• Central telemetry monitoring with medications such as Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitro
• Respiratory support includes BiPAP, CPAP, and HF/Vapotherm; no ventilators
• Hospitalist coverage 7am-5pm; Advanced Practice Nurse in-house with e-hospitalist support after hours
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy support 24/7; nursing staff does not mix medications
• Charge nurse responsible for patient assignments
• Nurse aides/techs ratio approximately 1:9

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Active Illinois RN license or proof that application process has been initiated
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Additional Requirements and Notes

• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy; negative drug screen required for all panels
• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours
• No block scheduling, but night shifts in a row may be accommodated
• No call shifts required
• OSF call-off policy allows equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs comfortable with intermediate care patients and flexible scheduling, including floating to other units.
