Registered Nurse (Tele Intermediate) - Galesburg, Illinois

• Patient Ratio: 1:4 or 1:5
• Unit Beds: 26
• EMR System: EPIC
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call Requirement: None
• Floating: Travelers expected to float within the unit, maintaining a 1:5 ratio
• Orientation: 1 shift hospital orientation, 2 shifts unit orientation (one day, one night)
• Scrubs: Wear own scrubs; no hospital-provided scrubs or specific scrub color required

Patient Population & Care

• Common Diagnoses: CHF, COVID pneumonia, Atrial Fibrillation with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, syncope
• Respiratory Support: No ventilators; use of BiPAP, CPAP, HF/Vapotherm
• Cardiac Medications: Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, nitro administered
• Monitoring: Central telemetry monitoring tech support
• Support Staff: Nurse aides (techs) ratio 1:9
• Hospitalist Coverage: Hospitalist on-site 7am-5pm; Advanced Practice Nurse in-house with e-hospitalist coverage after hours
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy: 24/7 pharmacy support; nurses do not mix medications
• IV Team: Not available

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Active Illinois RN license or proof that application process has been initiated
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - AHA certified

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels (drug-free campus policy)
• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• No charge nurse role; charge nurses take patients
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours
• No block scheduling, but night shifts in a row may be accommodated
