Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Position requires 1 year of experience as a first-time travel Radiology/Cardiology professional.
- Must be able to perform fluoroscopy and operate C-ARM equipment.
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience is preferred but not required.
- The position does not float between units.
- No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements.
- Expected patient ratio is 1:1.
- Facility type: Short Term Acute Care with 536 staffed beds.
- Charting system used: Epic.
- Parking is free.
- Scrub color: Any color allowed; OR/Cath Lab scrubs are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist within the last year.
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
- Current and valid license as an X-Ray Technologist (Radiologic Technologist).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation).
- Ability to perform fluoroscopy and operate C-ARM equipment.
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Fit mask test (respirator fit testing) required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable).
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification required.
- State-specific background checks as applicable.
- Work history verification may be required if reference exceptions are requested.
- Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background).
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after orientation.
