Pharmacist - Inpatient

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Inpatient pharmacist role with variable assignments based on team needs.
• Must be comfortable managing standard pediatric orders due to embedded pediatric hospital.
• Shifts primarily evening and night, 10-hour shifts with block scheduling.
• Weekend work up to every other weekend; rotating holidays.
• No on-call requirement, but may be asked to cover sick calls.

Responsibilities

• Order verification, product check and release.
• Remote sterile compounding verification.
• Clinical tasks including IV to PO conversions, renal dose review, aminoglycoside and anticoagulation dosing.
• Work with medication dispensing systems such as Omnicell ADMs, Cerner EMR, and Pharmacy Keeper for compounding and remote verification.

Schedule Details

• 10-hour shifts, block schedule for PM/overnight roles (7 pm to 5 am shifts).
• Day shifts are 8 hours with staggered start times beginning at 6:00 am.
• Typical workweek for 7/70 schedule starts on Wednesday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience
• Pharmacist experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Orientation

• 1-2 weeks depending on specialization of the role.
• For 7/70 schedule, rotate between 2nd shift (12 pm to 10 pm) and 3rd shift (9 pm to 7 am).

Work Environment & Dress Code

• Business casual attire unless entering sterile environment, where navy facility scrubs are provided.
• Pharmacy staffed 24 hours in sterile compounding and nonsterile roles.
