Job Opportunity: GI/Endo Tech

Location: Issaquah, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour days (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Position in Surgical Services specialty.
  • Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to work as travelers here.
  • Active compact nursing licenses are honored in Washington.
  • 1 year of specialty experience required.
  • First-time travelers accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Special Procedures Technologist license in Washington.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Special Procedures Technologist.
  • Recent experience within the last year as a Special Procedures Technologist.
  • Experience as an Endoscopy Technician.

Required Documentation & Background Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification).
  • E-Verify attestation.
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
  • Education verification required for all candidates.
  • State-specific background checks and registry searches as required by Washington state law.
  • References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable).
  • Work history verification may be required if reference exceptions are requested.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work.
  • Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel candidates, updated annually.
  • Immunizations and/or proof of immunity or declination for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola) - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Mumps - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Rubella - 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B - vaccination series or signed declination
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.

Training & Competency

  • Completion of required competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
  • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
  • EPIC system training modules required within one week of orientation (if applicable).

Additional Requirements

  • Float Policy Acknowledgement: May be required to float to other nearby facilities.
  • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
  • WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required for nurses working with out-of-state compact licenses in Washington.
