Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer Travel Contract

Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift Options:

  • 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
  • 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every 4th to 5th weekend rotation, coinciding with call weekend rotation
• Call Requirement: After-hours standby one weekday (Monday–Friday) and every 4th to 5th weekend rotation
• Float Requirement: Must float between inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and procedural settings

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of Echo Technologist experience within the last year

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• E-Verify compliance per contract
• Proof of name change if applicable (legal documentation)
• Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • National Criminal Search
  • National Sex Offender Search
  • Statewide searches
  • Education verification
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search for Home Health (if applicable)
• Michigan Central Registry Clearance (wet signature required) — time sensitive for pediatric and certain specialty placements
• MI LARA fingerprinting within 45 days of start (if applicable based on placement)
• Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug testing: 10-panel including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of at least one prior Tdap vaccine)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 30 days of start
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (for candidates starting after November 1)
• Fit mask testing (Honeywell DC365N95HC) required on-site for acute care and certain hospital locations; appointment must be scheduled and documented

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam within 1 year prior to assignment start (minimum 80% passing score)
• Competency exam in specialty within 1 year prior to assignment start (minimum 80% passing score)

Additional Facility Requirements

• Review and sign Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy prior to start
• Complete Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Dosimetry History Request Form required for Radiology specialties (candidate to send to previous employers)

References & Employment History

• One professional reference from a supervisor or manager required
• Complete employment application/resume with full 7 years of work history, no gaps, dated MM/YYYY
