Registered Nurse (Surgery) - Travel Position

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (typically 5x8-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM; 4-day 10-hour shifts may also be available)
Start Date: ASAP

Job Summary

• Independently provides routine and complex nursing care in a surgical setting.
• Utilizes nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.
• May float to other locations as needed.
• Weekend and on-call requirements apply.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year.
• Operating Room (OR) experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA.

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Full-time position.
• Typically 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 4:30 PM).
• May include 4-day 10-hour shifts.
• Weekend work required.
• On-call duties required.
• Floating to other units or locations may be necessary.
