Mammography Technologist (Contract)
Location: Craig, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Days
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary
Responsible for performing high-quality mammography imaging procedures for diagnostic interpretation, ensuring patient education, quality care, and regulatory compliance. Manages daily operations of the women's health section in radiology, including quality improvement, training coordination, and adherence to FDA guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mammography equipment following department protocols and radiologist instructions.
- Perform daily quality assurance (QA) and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, including exam documentation and charge capture.
- Verify exam orders, confirm patient identity with two identifiers, provide exam education, and review medical history.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete before radiologist review.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service maintenance as needed.
- Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, patient transportation, and cross-train imaging staff as required.
- Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards (ALARA) and infection control procedures.
- Participate in departmental and organizational quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other imaging modalities, adjusting schedules, and covering calls, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in Colorado
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist, including experience within the last year
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience as a Radiology Technologist, including CT and MRI modalities
Preferred Qualifications
- Cross-training in additional imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and DEXA.

This position requires no prior travel experience.
