Registered Nurse – Ortho Bone & Joint (Night Shift)

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Work unit: Orthopedics and North Surgical
• Weekend and call requirements: Every other weekend
• Floating: Possibility of floating to other Med-Surg departments as needed, within scope of practice, licensure, and demonstrated competencies

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Additional Information

• Floating may include assignments to Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Acute Rehab, Medical, Step Down ICU, and ICU units, all requiring the above certifications.
• Preference for additional advanced certifications (e.g., CSU-ALS) in ICU settings, but not mandatory.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of orthopedics nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Summary

This is a night shift contract RN position in Orthopedics and Surgical units with weekend and floating responsibilities. The role requires current BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications and the ability to float to various related units as needed.
