Registered Nurse – Orthopedics (Night Shift)

Location: Herrin, Illinois

Job Overview

• Floating to clinically appropriate units as needed, within scope of practice, licensure, and demonstrated competencies.
• Units may include Emergency Department, ICU, PCU, Acute Rehab, Medical, Step Down ICU, and Med/Surg.
• Assess patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and responsible parties.
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Manage conflict professionally to contribute to a healthy workplace environment.
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Participate in continuing education.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Orthopedics experience: minimum 2 years, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
