Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Salisbury, North Carolina
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Job Summary
- Work primarily in a combined Interventional Radiology (IR) and Cardiology/Vascular/Electrophysiology lab (approx. 80% IR procedures).
- Assist providers during diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures by scrubbing and circulating.
- Medication administration is performed by RNs only.
- Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (07:30 - 16:00), 40 hours per week.
- Weekend requirement: Every third weekend.
- Call requirement: Minimum 7 call days per month (typically two call days per week for two weeks and one call weekend per month). Call team includes three staff members, one RN. Callback time for STEMIs is 30 minutes; IR callback time varies by procedure.
- No float requirement.
- Scrubs provided.
- Orientation: 40-80 hours.
- No holiday RTO allowed.
- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics.
- Patient diagnoses commonly include pacemakers (PPM) and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Interventional Radiology Technologist experience
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- Education: Highest degree earned in a relevant science field, such as an Associate's degree (Applied Science or Science) or a Bachelor of Science degree
- Skills: Telemetry
Job Details & Requirements
- Start directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is completed.
- Assist with urgent/emergent cardiology and interventional radiology procedures.
- Call coverage is rotated equitably among staff.
- Special equipment used includes: GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi Plasma Blade Cutter, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, Impella.
Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Background checks required within 90 days of start, including local county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree relevant to profession.
- Drug screen required within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; if past positive TB, physical within 30 days and annual updates required.
- Fit testing required (N95 mask or PAPR training).
- Immunizations and titers required: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer or declination form), Flu vaccination or approved exemption. Declinations for vaccines are generally not accepted except for flu with approved exemption.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes.
- Required education and competency exams including medication safety, color blindness testing, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (must pass with 82% or higher).
- Facility-specific documents and agreements must be signed prior to start (confidentiality, tobacco-free campus, hospital policies, clinical education checklist, etc.).
- Radiation badge required and will be provided for this role.
- Candidate must complete Corp ID setup and I-Learn login within 24 hours of receiving credentials to avoid start delays.
- Photo for badge required immediately after signing contract (passport style, white background, business attire).

- No return to origin (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation.
- Interview with manager required before offer.
- Locals accepted.
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years required for travel allied acute care candidates.
- No float requirement.
