Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Monday through Friday only; no weekends or holidays
- Unit operates from 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM
- Pre/post unit for Cath lab, EP lab, PV lab, and interventional radiology
- Patient population includes Same Day PCI patients and those from IR, EP, Cath, and PV labs
- Some patients require telemetry monitoring
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience (higher value from all sources)
- Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)
- Telemetry experience required
- Charge RN experience required
- Knowledge of care and monitoring for arterial and venous access patients, including hemostasis management
- Familiarity with patient populations from Cath, EP, PV, and interventional radiology labs
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse license valid in North Carolina
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
- Pass/Fail Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (must score 82% or higher; 2 attempts allowed)
- EPIC system proficiency required (pass EPIC test with minimum 80%)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
- State-specific fingerprinting (North Carolina SBI) required prior to start
- References: 2 supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
- Employment verification for last 5 years through third-party vendor required
- Annual skills checklist must be maintained
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start (including THC, opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, etc.)
- Fit mask test completed within current calendar year and updated annually (approved N95 respirators required)
- Proof of adult Tdap vaccine required
- QGold/TSPOT TB test within 6 months of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire as applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B titer or declination required
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/22/2025 – 2/27/2026)
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID and Social Security card required for badge issuance
- Candidate must complete and upload Health History Form prior to clearance
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement required
- Pass Fail EKG exam required for all RNs regardless of specialty
- Strict punctuality and attendance policy with zero tolerance for tardiness or unexcused absences
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling
- Education verification required: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher; foreign equivalency evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
- Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing pose)
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Successful completion of Pass/Fail testing including EKG and medication competency
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
Summary
This is a 13-week travel Registered Nurse position specializing in Cardiac Telemetry with a focus on patients from cardiac catheterization and interventional labs. The role requires a minimum of 2 years RN experience, telemetry and charge nurse experience, and multiple certifications including ACLS, BLS, and successful completion of a dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam. The position offers a Monday-Friday day shift schedule with no weekends or holidays. Candidates must meet strict compliance, health, and background requirements prior to start.
