Job Opportunity: First Assist - OR

Location

  • Asheville, North Carolina

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Operating Room (OR), 29 beds
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and tech availability
  • Equipment includes standard OR tools plus 5 Da Vinci Robots, Mako, and Velys Robots
  • Documentation system: Cerner
  • Scheduling is flexible; call required

Procedures and Specialties Supported

  • Ortho Trauma, Orthopedics, Spine, Neurosurgery, Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Robotics, Vascular, Pediatrics, ENT, Plastics, Podiatry, Oral-Maxillofacial (OMF), Dental, Eye Trauma

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a First Assist, including experience within the last year
  • OR First Assist Certification
  • Certified First Assistant (CFA)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CSTFA)
  • Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in Ortho Trauma, Vascular Surgery, and Urology
