Dietitian Travel/Contract Job - Syracuse, NY
Job Summary
- Perform comprehensive nutrition screenings and assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) plans.
- Document nutrition assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Provide nutrition groups, education, and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient care rounds, departmental meetings, and Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Support staff development and contribute to improved clinical outcomes.
- Complete swallowing screens as needed.
Location & Schedule
- Location: Syracuse, New York
- Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)
- Contract Length: Approximately 26 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Additional Notes
- This is a travel/contract position with a state-run bid process; candidate selection may take 7-14 business days after bid closing.
- Candidates must be patient with the slow state process.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam is required for RNs only and for Aya LPN and RN candidates; does not apply to this Dietitian role.
- Some documentation must be uploaded with specific expiration dates (e.g., physical exam, drug test, TB test).
- Declinations for certain vaccinations are not accepted unless specifically noted.
