Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Night Shift)
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Call Requirement: None
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Float Requirement: None
- Scheduling: Block scheduling not available
- Shift Expectations: Must be clocked in and ready for report at shift start
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) issued by American Heart Association
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- E-Verify completion as per contract requirements
- Proof of name change if applicable
- Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search from age 18
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Michigan LARA fingerprinting required within 45 days of start (process coordinated via DocuSign)
- Education verification (copy of highest degree or diploma)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing: 10-panel including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of at least one prior Tdap vaccine)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (no exemptions accepted)
- Hepatitis B: titer, series, or facility declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/spiritual exemption (for candidates starting after Nov 1)
- Fit mask testing required on-site (Honeywell DC365N95HC) for applicable roles
- Completion of Bronson Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy acknowledgment
- References: One professional reference from a direct supervisor or manager required
- Complete employment application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps
Additional Notes
- Holiday work is required as needed; holiday time off cannot be guaranteed
- Candidates must complete all required forms and documentation promptly to avoid delays
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment is required
- Medication and specialty competency exams must be completed within 1 year prior to assignment start with a passing score of at least 80%
