Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Plano, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Specialty: Medical Oncology
  • Unit Size: 30 beds
  • Staff: 52 members
  • Shift Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 1 Unit Secretary
    • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 RNs, 2-3 PCTs
  • Patient Ratios: Maximum 5:1 or 6:1
  • Equipment: Standard medical equipment
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
  • On-call and floating requirements: None
  • Staff start times: Required to be present by 6:45 am/pm and attend huddle at 6:53 am/pm

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology nursing experience

Typical Procedures on Unit

  • Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures
  • Gynecologic Oncology procedures
