MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Everett, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 AM – 07:00 PM), Wednesday through Friday
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2-week period)
- Floating: Required to float between Outpatient, Inpatient, and Emergency Department units
- Call: Optional for agency techs, not required
- Start Date: ASAP
- Patient acuity varies from ambulatory to total assist; day shift includes more specialized studies (Cardiac MRI, Breast MRI), night shift focuses on routine scans (brains, spines, abdomens, extremities)
- Exposure to neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents preferred

Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT-MR or ARRT-IT certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background Check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- E-Verify attestation required
- Education Verification (degree/diploma/transcript as applicable)
- State-specific background and registry checks as required by Washington state law
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background
Training and Competency Requirements
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blindness testing if required by unit
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
Additional Notes
- Float Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps
- Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable
This position offers a dynamic work environment with exposure to a wide range of MRI procedures and patient populations in a Level II Trauma Center setting. It is suitable for MRI technologists with at least one year of experience and appropriate licensure and certifications, including those new to travel assignments.
