Description
Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position
Location: Frankfort, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in a 10-bed telemetry unit with patient ratios of 2:1 and 3:1. The unit uses Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, ventilators, and glucometers, with documentation via Meditech Expanse.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Skills and Experience
- CPap and BiPap management
- Port access and therapeutic phlebotomy
- Preferred experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusions, and ventilators
Unit and Work Environment
- Unit staffing includes Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Nurse Externs
- Scheduling: Every other weekend, three 12-hour shifts
- Floating may be required to Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 3rd floor, or Emergency Department (ED)
- Procedures performed: telemetry monitoring, physician-led paracentesis, BiPap, therapeutic phlebotomy
- Dress code: Navy or gray scrubs
