Description

Pulmonary Function Technologist

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Varied
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

  • Perform all pulmonary function testing modalities in the Pulmonary Function Lab.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new testing procedures, equipment, and policies.
  • Oversee and train respiratory therapy students during clinical rotations in the lab.
  • Participate in biologic control testing and clarify ambiguous testing orders.
  • Maintain compliance with documentation and charge policies.
  • Assist with daily transaction activity reports and monthly statistics compilation.
  • Ensure accurate patient registration in accordance with CMS policies.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff, providers, and ambulatory care offices for scheduling and coordination.
  • Provide patient appointment confirmations and testing instructions when needed.
  • Assist with supply ordering and inventory control to maintain budget.
  • Monitor daily operation of the Blood Gas Lab to ensure adherence to CAP guidelines.
  • Prepare, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot pulmonary function testing equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in New Hampshire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) credential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
