Respiratory Therapist - Contract Position

Job Details
- Employment Type: Contractor
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour Day Shift
- Hours per Week: 36
- Floating: May float within hospital to all units
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend (default)
- Time Off: Up to 7 days can be approved (default)
- On Call and Holiday Expectations: Vary (default)
- Block scheduling is NOT accommodated
- Fatigue Policy: Maximum 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
Patient Population
- Mostly geriatrics and adults
- Some pediatrics in the Emergency Department
Patient Ratios
- 1:1
Required Certifications and Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- CRT or RRT
- Ventilator management (including AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, parapack vents for MRI, Hamilton vents for transport)
- CPAP experience
- BiPAP experience
- Arterial line (A-line) placement
- Intubation
- Ventilator weaning
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
Orientation
- At least one shift to learn unit flow
Charting and Equipment Systems
- EPIC electronic health record
- Pyxis medication system
