Description
Registered Nurse - Hemodialysis
Location: Salida, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
Urgent need for a Hemodialysis RN to provide daily dialysis care and supervision for in-center, acute, and peritoneal dialysis patients. Work schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with possible holiday coverage if the unit is operating.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-assessment, ongoing assessment, and post-assessment of dialysis patients.
- Maintain overall accountability and responsibility for patient care during dialysis.
- Demonstrate advanced technical skills to set parameters and monitor dialysis machinery readings.
- Access fistula or shunt carefully to avoid clot formation.
- Provide care for acute and peritoneal dialysis patients as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado
- Minimum 6 months (0.5 years) of outpatient dialysis nursing experience within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong language, grammar, and spelling abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals.
- Ability to maintain patient, employee, and facility confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Shift Details
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- May include holiday coverage if the dialysis unit is operational.
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS/BCLS (Basic Life Support/Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
