Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech - Surgical Services
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- 10-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Call required 10 days per month, including one weekend per month
Unit Information
Experience with the following surgical procedures and equipment is relevant:
- Aortic and Mitral Valve surgeries, ASD, Redo Surgeries
- Esophagogastrectomy, CABG (with/without valve repair or replacement)
- VATS, Thoracotomy, Mediastinoscopy, Mitral Clip, TAVR
- Ascending Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Groin Exploration, Port-a-Cath Placement
- Robotic Thoracic Surgery, Carotid Endarterectomy
- IABP insertion/removal, Myxoma Removal, Pneumonectomy
- Chamberlin Procedure, Tracheostomy, VSD
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a CVOR Technologist
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks including local county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree related to profession
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) required
- Immunizations and titers required: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (with facility-specific declination if applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Required facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, education roster, tobacco-free campus acknowledgement, medication safety training, hospital policies acknowledgment, and others as applicable
- North Carolina state-specific registry and exclusion list searches within 90 days prior to start
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit needs (refer to unit description for specifics)
Competencies and Testing
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blindness testing within 1 year prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of start (must pass with 82% or higher; remediation process in place if needed)
Interview and Hiring Notes
- Interview with the manager is mandatory before an offer is extended
- No return to office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
Additional Notes
- Candidates must submit a passport-style photo on a white background for badge creation immediately after signing contract
- Candidates must complete required online orientation and training modules prior to start
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years required for travel allied and acute care candidates
