Job Opportunity: EP Technologist (Electrophysiology Lab)
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Job Summary
- Assist physicians with arteriograms and other specialized radiologic procedures using sterile technique.
- Prepare examination area and position patients for procedures.
- Operate complex radiology equipment following established techniques and routines.
- Assist physicians by passing materials, taking exposures as directed, and other support tasks.
- Provide patient care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Work Environment
- Unit size: 11 employees, including 4 Electrophysiologists.
- Procedure rooms: 2 currently in operation.
- Procedure volume: Approximately 5-10 procedures per day, depending on type.
- Department schedule: Monday through Friday with rotating Saturday call (8 AM - 1 PM).
- Staffing ratio: 5 techs and 6 RNs.
- Shift: Days, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Electrophysiology Technician with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate's degree
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
