Medical Lab Scientist - Travel/Contract
Location: Newberg, Oregon
Contract Length: 26 weeks

- Shift Options:
- Day Shift: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM (4x10 hours)
- Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM (4x10 hours)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, rotating after full competency
- On-call: Yes, as needed
- Floating: No
- Block Schedules: No
- Expected Ratios: N/A
- Charting System: Epic
- Dress Code: Any color scrub or business casual
- Parking: No fee
Role Requirements
- Must be a generalist able to cover various shifts due to severe staffing shortage
- Night shift availability requested only if able to work alone after training and competency
- Most shifts likely mid, evening, and rotating weekends
- Blood Bank experience required
Required Qualifications
- Medical Lab Scientist with a minimum of 1 year of experience
- Medical Lab Scientist experience within the last year
Additional Requirements
- Must complete annual regulatory and facility-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Must complete Epic training modules within a week of orientation
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (annual update) unless valid record within 1 year exists
- Float policy acknowledgement required (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Color blindness testing may be required on a unit basis
- Background checks include SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and county checks, education verification, and state-specific searches as applicable

- This is a first-timer travel assignment (26 weeks)
- Candidate must be able to work independently on night shifts after training
- Severe staffing shortage means flexibility and willingness to cover multiple shifts is important
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
