Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Overview
- Med-Surg Cardiac Medical Unit with 23 beds and 1 treatment room
- Staff includes day and night shifts with RNs, charge nurses, patient care technicians, and other support staff
- Patient ratios: Day/Evening RNs 1:4, Night RNs 1:5
- Equipment includes telemetry monitoring (some rooms hard-wired), vein finder for IV therapy, portable and continuous pulse oximetry, manual/automatic vital sign machines, blood glucose monitors, mechanical lifts, dopplers
- Electronic Medical Record system with medication scanning and soft-lab capabilities
- Patient population primarily cardiac medical patients who are hemodynamically stable, including:
- MI, acute/chronic heart failure, new onset atrial fibrillation (with or without rapid ventricular response), stable dysrhythmias
- Procedural patients: cardiac catheterizations (radial or femoral, without interventions), ablations, cardioversions, ICDs, pacers, CardioMEMS, pericardial drains
- Patients requiring cardiac drips such as amiodarone, diltiazem, dopamine (renal dose), dobutamine, milrinone, Lasix (up to 40 mg), insulin drips
- Additional patients include ICU transfers, neuro patients (stroke), and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Salter therapy
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Hampshire
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg / Telemetry nursing experience
- Med-Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong medical-surgical background with telemetry experience
Typical Procedures Performed
- Cardiac catheterizations (left/right, femoral/radial approach) without intervention
- Pacers, ablations, cardioversions, electrophysiology studies
- Management of cardiac drips including amiodarone, diltiazem, dopamine (renal dose), dobutamine, milrinone, Lasix, and insulin drips

- Floating within similar clinical areas may be required
- Dress code: hospital scrubs
- Weekend schedule: every other weekend
