Description
Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Travel/Contract)
Location: Akron, Ohio
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit during night shifts.
- Must have recent permanent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio.
- Minimum of 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIHSS certification.
- CVOR experience.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Additional Requirements
- Background check including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Completion of facility-specific online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
- Baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation during orientation (passing scores required).
- Two professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
- Employment application including at least 3 years prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area.
- Annual skills checklist and core competency updates required.
Notes
- Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
- Physical exam and eye exam do not need to be updated annually if currently on assignment without a break; otherwise, must be current within 1 year.
- Flu vaccine exemptions require agency completion of exemption attestation and facility approval.
- Modules and onboarding must be completed before clearance to start; delays in module completion may delay start date.
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, seeking a night shift travel contract in Akron, Ohio.
