Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown (Nights)

Location: Rock Island, Illinois
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide professional and clinical care as part of an interdisciplinary team in a Stepdown/Progressive Care setting.
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses may be required.
• Night shift with 12-hour shifts.
• Patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:6 on nights; charge nurses assign patients considering cardiac experience for safety.
• Use of EPIC electronic medical record system required.
• Orientation dates available throughout the contract period.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Valid driver’s license.

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Night shift hours are 12 hours long.
• Overtime is billable after 48 hours per week.
• Call back and on-call pay rates apply (details withheld).
• Local candidates within 50 miles are eligible with adjusted terms.

Schedule & Hours

• Night shift, 12 hours per day.
• Typical weekly hours: 36-40 hours, with overtime after 48 hours.
• Orientation sessions scheduled regularly throughout the contract period.

This position requires strong cardiac Stepdown experience and the ability to work nights in a fast-paced progressive care environment using EPIC EMR.
