Description

Registered Nurse - Surgery (Travel)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Mid shift, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-time Travel Position

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a surgical setting.
Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
Minimum 1 year of OR circulator experience, with experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

Prior experience as an OR circulator or in surgical nursing is required.
Must meet professional nursing competencies including leadership and clinical standards consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
