Description

Surgical Tech - Indiana (Fort Wayne)

Job Details

  • Specialty: OR Tech (primarily Neuro cases)
  • Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights (18:30 - 05:00), Monday-Friday
  • Hours: 10 hours per day, approximately 40 hours per week
  • Call: Required; weekday/night call about every 7-10 days, full weekend call every 5-6 weeks
  • Schedule Notes: Facility will not consider alternative shifts or guarantee block scheduling
  • Floating: May float to General, Orthopedic, and Cardiovascular OR units
  • Dress Code: Surgery scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
  • BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide quality care as a member of the perioperative team under the Perioperative leader
  • Anticipate, plan for, and respond to the needs of patients, surgeons, and team members
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, family, coworker, and physician information

Additional Information

  • Orientation includes 8 hours of non-billable time; clinicians returning within 12 months of last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation
  • Facility allows call-off or cancellation up to 24 hours before the shift for the entire 13-week assignment
  • Local travelers (within 50 miles) are accepted with a rate adjustment (not relevant for pay details here)
  • Equipment used includes EPIC electronic systems
