Radiologic Technologist – General Imaging
Job Type
- Contractor
- Part-time, approximately 16 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour night shifts
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Location & Facility
- Milwaukee, WI
- Level III Trauma Center with Level III NICU
- Magnet Designation and Primary Stroke Center
- Facility includes diagnostic and procedural imaging units with multiple specialized rooms
Unit Information
- Imaging unit with:
- 5 diagnostic rooms
- 2 fluoroscopy rooms
- 1 video swallow room
- 2 diagnostic clinic rooms
- 3 pain clinic rooms
- 1 dental room
- Average patient volume: 15-20 patients per technologist per day
- Fast-paced environment with high acuity patients
Patient Population
- Inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, procedural patients
- All age ranges, with limited pediatric cases
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Skills & Experience
- Competent in surgical and procedural imaging, including portable X-rays
- Experience with fluoroscopy procedures such as ERCPs, bronchoscopies, pain clinic procedures, and urology cases
- Operating room imaging experience preferred, including orthopedic, general, and spine cases
- Comfort with O-arm imaging equipment is preferred
- Mid to high-level hospital experience required
Technology & Equipment
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
- X-ray equipment brands: GE, Fuji, Del Medical
- Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS): McKesson
- C-arm equipment: GE 9900, Elites, and Medtronic O-arms
Orientation & Training
- 7-day orientation in the department
- Neonatal orientation provided
Scheduling & On-Call
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
- On-call schedule: one call shift per week with three call periods (0630-1400, 1400-2230, 2230-0630)
- Holiday expectation: one holiday per contract
- Shift start times may flex by 1 to 1.5 hours depending on staffing needs
Support & Team
- Lead technologist available on first shift
- Radiologist coverage 24/7 onsite
- Team includes 14 technologists on days, 7 on second shift, and 3 on third shift
- Respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7
