Certified Respiratory Therapist - Jamaica Plain, MA
Job Details
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 36-hour week, rotating day/night shifts
- 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Health and Safety Requirements
- N95 Fit Test completed within 365 days prior to start and updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (part of Fit Test process)
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) or proof of immunity via blood test
- TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if break >6 months
- Physician Health Statement signed within 365 days of start and updated if break >6 months
- Positive TB test requires negative chest X-ray documentation (optional but recommended)
Background and Compliance Checks
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start and updated if break >6 months; includes international residence/travel history for last 7 years
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start and updated if break >6 months
- National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
- Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
- Social Security Number trace as part of background check covering last 7 years
- Education verification of highest degree or certification required for the position
Submission Requirements
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
- Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset
- Completed skills checklist within 1 year of submission
- Candidate submission coversheet (current version)
- Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for any extensions
Additional Notes
- No conditional licenses accepted
- Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start
- Some locations may allow fit test updates if assignment is extended
- Name change documentation required if credentials do not match legal name
