Job Description

• Counsel inpatients, outpatients, and their families in medical nutrition therapy, adapting diet plans to meet individual needs.
• Develop and implement nutrition care plans based on screening and assessment of nutritional needs.
• Monitor calorie and protein intake when indicated; recommend additional or alternative nutritional support routines.
• Write tube feeding orders following accepted guidelines.
• Evaluate and use information on nutritional supplements, indications for use, and product composition.
• Document nutrition assessment, intervention, education, and follow-up in the medical record using International Dietetics and Nutrition Terminology (IDNT) and the nutrition care process.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Michigan.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
• Relevant work experience and skills checklist current within the last year.
• Two supervisory reference forms taken within the last two years.
• Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).

Additional Information

• Facility is a 49-bed hospital specializing in rural medicine and designated as a Level IV Trauma Center.
• Uses Epic EMR system.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:4.
• Dress code: Business attire.
• Prior travel experience is highly preferred but not explicitly required.
