Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Windsor, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients on medical-surgical and telemetry units.
- May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other patient care team members to maintain professional nursing standards.
- Float between Acute Rehab, Med Surg, and any unit within scope of practice.
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5.
- Average daily patient census: 22.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
- Orientation: 8 hours non-billable.
- Call-back, holiday, and overtime multipliers apply.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in a rehabilitation nursing setting
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months
Additional Information
- Block scheduling requests will not be considered.
- 48-hour guarantee is not available.
- Facility enforces a strict attendance policy: after 3 call-offs, contract may be terminated. Call-offs must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance.
- This is a small community hospital with 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
- The hospital offers acute care, transitional care, hospice, physical therapy, and a therapeutic pool.
- Location offers access to outdoor recreation and is within a 3-hour drive to major cities like Boston, Montreal, and New York.
Important Notes
- Travelers must be willing to float to any unit within their scope of practice.
- Scheduling accommodations such as block scheduling are not allowed.
- Requests for time off must be included with the application and cannot be added later.
- This assignment is not open to local travelers within 50 miles.
- Own transportation is mandatory due to no public transit options.
