Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Tuba City, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Perform specimen processing, testing, and reporting of test results in compliance with regulatory requirements and policies. Work in a hospital laboratory providing services in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy. The laboratory operates 24-hour coverage with rotating day, evening, or night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Work Schedule

• Tech A: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
• Tech B: Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
• Tech C: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
• Tech C may provide coverage for Tech A or B as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED, AND successful completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and holding the military enlisted occupational specialty.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with a minimum of 6 months (0.5 years) of documented bench experience, including experience within the last year.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with relevant clinical laboratory experience.

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks.
• COVID and flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted after submission of a declination form.
• Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start.
• Certification agencies accepted include ASCP and AMT.
