Description

Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Easley, South Carolina
Shift: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (1900-0730)
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (subject to change)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work primarily on Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit.
  • Floating to similar units within the facility or nearby facilities in the region is required.
  • Unit is currently not accepting first-time travel nurses.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Experience using Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Driver’s License/State ID: Required immediately upon signing for computer access and must be carried on duty.
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year background check within 12 months of start, including SS trace, aliases, all states/counties lived/worked in last 7 years.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter.
    • Fingerprinting required if lived/worked in WV in last 7 years or for certain care settings.
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education must be verified; diplomas not accepted as placeholders.
  • Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with specific background and lighting requirements, submitted prior to start.
  • Online Modules: Completion of approximately 12 hours of online modules within 72 hours of assignment; required before start.
  • Physical Exam: Physician’s statement within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Drug Testing: 5-panel drug screen within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Immunizations and Health Documents:
    • Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years if working in high-risk areas.
    • Flu vaccine or approved exemption required annually (not required for remote workers).
    • Documentation for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity required.
  • Fit Mask: Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be prepared to complete mandatory Pass/Fail testing (medication and arrhythmia) with two attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation.
  • Floating policy must be signed and acknowledged annually.
  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers are not being considered.
  • Candidate must carry all required IDs and certifications while on duty.
  • Compliance with all facility-specific policies and documentation upload requirements is mandatory.

Hours

  • 12 hours per shift
  • Approximately 48 hours per week

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RNs with EPIC experience who are comfortable floating and working night shifts in a travel/contract role.
