Description
ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Point Pleasant, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Requirements
- Valid RN license in West Virginia
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support, AHA only)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Pre-Employment Testing & Compliance
- Candidates must complete medication and EKG competency exams within 72 hours of contract signing.
- A passing score of 85% is required on both exams. Failure to pass or complete within the timeframe will result in cancellation.
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service.
- Background checks required: 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks updated as required.
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of hire.
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years
- Negative TB test (two-step PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 6 months) or chest X-ray if indicated
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: titer or 2 vaccines
- Seasonal flu vaccine required by October 31 through April 6, with approved medical or religious exemptions
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Completion of employment application/resume.
- Skills checklist for applicable unit, updated annually.
- Performance evaluations required if previously worked over 1 year; internal evaluations if over 2 years.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required.
Work Schedule Notes
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
This position requires strict adherence to all testing, licensing, and immunization requirements to maintain compliance and ensure patient safety in the ICU setting.
