Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular

Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Vascular Ultrasound Technologist (RVT)
  • Float between units: No
  • On-call required: Yes, 4 nights need call coverage
  • Weekends required: No
  • Block schedules required: No
  • Expected patient ratio: 1:1
  • Shift options:
    • Day: 4 shifts of 10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
    • Night: 4 shifts of 10 hours (10:00 PM - 8:00 AM)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Vascular Sonographer license in Oregon
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Vascular Sonographer within the last year

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • Drug screen: 9-panel within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID vaccination documentation preferred; declinations accepted
  • Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
  • Float policy acknowledgement (may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance)
  • References and work history verification as needed

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • On-call coverage is required for 4 nights during the contract.
  • No weekend or block scheduling required.
  • Facility uses Epic for charting.
