Location

  • Level II Trauma Center

Employment Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:45 AM to 3:00 PM)
  • Expected Patient Ratio: 1:3
  • On-call: Yes (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Floating: No
  • Weekends and block schedules: Not required

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
  • Recent CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
  • Other certifications as applicable per clinical track (verify with clinical lead if unclear)

Licensure

  • Must hold the appropriate license for CVOR Tech specialty (verify state-specific requirements)

Orientation

  • Reduced Non-Billable Orientation: 0 hours (standard is 40 hours)

Uniform/Dress Code

  • Licensed nursing personnel: solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping)
  • Print tops not allowed except in specific pediatric or women's services units
  • Unlicensed personnel: solid hunter green uniforms or scrubs

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • Background Check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education Verification required
  • Drug Screening: 9 Panel within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance required annually for travel candidates
  • Fit Mask test required annually (travel only)
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Employment Application covering at least last 5 years of employment

Competency and Training

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Competency Exams as required by specialty
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification or exam if applicable (not typically for CVOR Tech)
  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS platform
