Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse

Location: Lacey, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in an outpatient infusion/oncology setting.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per day (typically 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM). Start times usually between 7:15 AM and 7:45 AM.
  • No holidays or weekend shifts required.
  • Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy, hematology patients, and non-oncology infusions (rheumatology, GI, neurology, pulmonology).
  • Approximately 85% hematology/oncology and 15% non-oncology infusions.
  • Shifts may vary and may extend until the last patient is seen.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum of 1 year of infusion experience, with infusion experience within the last year required.
  • Experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Oncology experience.
  • Chemotherapy certification (CHEMO).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience with IM subcutaneous injections.
  • Experience with therapeutic phlebotomy.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable).
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma (required if international education).
  • NURSYS verification for RN license.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination accepted.
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
  • Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates.
  • References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps.

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Competency exams required by specialty.
  • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
  • Epic system training modules completion required within a week of orientation (transcripts required).

Additional Information

  • Must be willing to float to other nearby facilities if needed.
  • Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background).
  • Washington state-specific requirements include multi-state licensed nurse demographic attestation if working with an out-of-state compact license.
  • Background checks and state-specific searches required per Washington state law.
