Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)

Location

Overland Park, Kansas
Inpatient Rehab Unit, 4th Floor
16-bed unit with approximately 20 staff members

Unit Details

Patient population includes post-stroke, neuro/ortho surgical, and medical patients requiring increased therapy
Equipment used: Welch Allens
Documentation system: EMR - Meditech
Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, rotating every 3rd weekend
Floating policy: may float to any medical floor
Team atmosphere with very engaged leadership and extensive resources for inpatient rehab services
Staff average experience: ~20 years
Unit recognized with Unit of Distinction Award in 2021

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Typical shift staffing:
- Day shift: 1 Charge RN, 1-2 other RNs
- Night shift: 1 Point person RN, 1-2 other RNs
- 1 LPN and 1 Patient Care Technician per shift when patient census is full (15-16 patients)
Dress code: Royal blue scrubs (top and bottom) or royal blue top with black scrub bottoms
Rehab documentation knowledge preferred

Contract Length

Approximately 13 weeks (travel assignment)
