Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend (EOW), holidays as needed
  • Unit: Med-Surg/Telemetry (patient population primarily Med-Surg)
  • Float: Required to float across all facilities as needed
  • Patient Population:
    • Observation patients
    • Respiratory conditions
    • General Medical Surgical diagnoses
    • Palliative, End of Life, Hospice patients
    • Psychiatric Observation
    • Diabetes (including new diabetics and complications)
    • Surgical and surgical observation patients
  • Electronic Health Record: EPIC system used
  • Previous Charge RN experience: Preferred but not required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Proficiency in EKG interpretation
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Important Notes

  • The facility enforces a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences. Flexibility with scheduling is required.
  • Candidates must be aware of and agree to the mandatory Pass/Fail EKG exam requirement.
  • All travelers are subject to floating across multiple facilities within the health system.
  • Background checks must be clear of any open hits; any issues must be resolved before start.
  • Foreign-educated nurses must provide a foreign equivalency evaluation if education was obtained outside the U.S.
  • Candidates must complete all compliance requirements by the deadline prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Previous Charge RN experience
  • NIH Stroke Certification (may be required for certain units)
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI depending on unit assignment

This position offers an opportunity for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience to work night shifts in a Med-Surg/Telemetry setting with a diverse patient population. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
