Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Patient population primarily Medical-Surgical (MS), with Telemetry (Tele) capability due to EKG requirement.
- Float required across all facilities as needed.
- Care for observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end-of-life/hospice patients, psychiatric observation, diabetes (including complicated cases), surgical patients, and surgical observation.
- Use of EPIC electronic health record system.
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg/Telemetry.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
- Pass/Fail EKG (Dysrhythmia) competency exam required for all RNs except Behavioral Health or Case Managers.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable; minimum 80% passing score.
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required.
- Acknowledgment of Pass/Fail testing (EKG and EPIC) required.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start (includes THC, opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, etc.).
- Proof of adult Tdap vaccine required.
- TB testing: Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months of start or chest X-ray if positive history. TB questionnaire within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): Positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart required. Medical exemptions considered with documentation.
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart required. Medical exemptions considered with documentation.
- Hepatitis B: Titer or declination required; if non-reactive, booster series required.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/22/2025 – 2/27/2026). Declinations not accepted.
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must complete and upload a health history form prior to clearance, including any physician-mandated work restrictions.
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements: no selfies, no filters, full-size, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing pose. Photos cannot be taken onsite.
- Candidates must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment forms.
- Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed prior to start, including multi-factor authentication setup.
- Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year and updated annually required, except for certain non-clinical or specific tech roles. Approved respirators specified.
- Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here).
Important Notes
- The client enforces a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
- Compliance documents must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date.
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and prepared to float across facilities.
- Candidates must be aware of and agree to the Pass/Fail EKG exam requirement.
This position offers a structured night shift schedule with a focus on medical-surgical nursing in a telemetry-capable environment, suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience, including first-time travelers.
