Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Variable shifts
Approximately 36 hours per week
Weekend rotation required (day or night shifts)
On-call duties required

Unit Information

Operating Room with 8 beds
Staff includes RNs and CSTs
Day shift example staffing: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
Patient ratio: 1:1
Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Orthopedic surgery
General surgery

Trauma surgery

Required Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required License

Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Hampshire

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty

Preferred Skills

Trauma surgery experience is preferred but not mandatory

No floating to other units

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience as an RN
Operating Room experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in Orthopedic Surgery
Experience in Neurosurgery
