Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiology Clinic
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and implement patient and family education.
- Assess patient needs and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide leadership and contribute to professional development within the nursing practice.
- Promote health and safety, integrate ethical provisions, and apply research findings in nursing care.
Work Schedule
- Day shift only (approximately 07:30 to 17:30)
- 36 hours per week, scheduled as four 9-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- American Heart Association ACLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Outpatient clinic experience
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems
Essential Job Functions
- Collect comprehensive patient health data and analyze to determine diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
- Evaluate nursing practice against professional standards and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise tact and discretion.
- Work varied shifts and handle stressful, busy environments.
- Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., patients, equipment).
- Ability to perform CPR and physically assist patients as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for eight or more hours daily.
- Flexibility to work beyond a standard 40-hour week, including weekends and after-hours.
- On-call availability may be required.
Exposure and Safety Considerations
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
- Exposure to radiation in medical imaging areas.
- Handling of chemicals, disinfectants, and medications.
- Ability to manage emotionally challenging situations involving distressed patients or families.
Additional Information
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered.
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
