Description

Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit & Work Environment

Unit: Neuroscience ICU (NSICU)
Number of Beds: 12
Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
Equipment: Baxter pumps
Documentation System: Cerner
Scheduling: Self-schedule based on unit needs; requires 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period
Floating Policy: Travelers float first to other ICUs or to step-down units
Dress Code: Navy Blue uniform

Patient Population & Care Focus

Neurology-experienced ICU nurses preferred
Care of neurology patients post-thrombectomy and TPA administration
Care of post-neurosurgery patients
Procedures performed on unit include:
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Bedside External Ventricular Drains (EVDs)
- Arterial line (A-line) monitoring

Required Certifications & Licenses

Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience

Additional Notes

Unit values neurology ICU experience due to patient population
Opportunity to work with advanced neurocritical care technology and procedures
Schedule flexibility with self-scheduling and weekend shifts required
