Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Location

Unit Information

Operating Room with 8 ORs
Staff includes 13 RNs and 10 scrub techs
Day shift staffing: 8 RNs and 8 scrub techs
OR operating hours: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Patient ratio: 1:1
Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech ORM

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
Operating Room experience within the last year
Experience in an Acute Care setting
ACLS certification
BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

Neuro spine experience
CNOR certification
More than 5 years of experience in the specialty

Work Schedule & Environment

Shift starts at 6:30 AM; daily huddle at 6:45 AM
45-minute response time for on-call duties
Rotating call schedule: 1 RN and 1 scrub tech on call from 5 PM to 7 AM on weekdays, and 24-hour call coverage on weekends (7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Sunday)
Weekends covered by on-call staff
Scrubs provided by hospital
Artificial nails, dips, gels, etc., are not permitted
