Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Big Spring, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 or 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 36/48 hour alternating schedule

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care in a Medical Surgical setting.
• Work night shifts with alternating 36 and 48-hour schedules.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Notes

• Legal name must match exactly on all license documentation, IDs, social security card, and certifications; proof of name change alone is not sufficient.
• Background checks and verifications must be current and meet facility and agency requirements.
• Some certifications (e.g., PALS, TNCC) may have a grace period of 1 year for ICU or longer-term assignments.
• Facility may provide on-site options for certain certifications if needed.
• Pass/fail testing remediation offered same day if failed.
• Fit mask test must be with accepted masks (3M 1860 or 1860S); failure with all masks requires escalation.
